Heal Your Body

If you have been searching for a way to heal some type of “dis-ease,” you are not alone. It seems that so many of us look for outside resources/solutions when something gets out of balance in the body.

In her book “Heal Your Body,” Louise Hay explains how to awaken our own ability to contribute to our healing process.

Louise Hay begins with a bold statement that she knows dis-ease can be reversed by reversing mental patterns.

For example, she says that cancer comes from a pattern of deep resentment that is held for a long time. When she was diagnosed with cancer, she knew that she had to clear this mental pattern or any type of surgery would be useless.

Mental changes must be made to prevent a dis-ease from returning.

One of the most important things to remember is the power in the present moment. We can only start the process of forgiveness and letting go right here and right now. This even holds true for beliefs and patterns that we have held for a long time. We can start making changes right now.

There is a great exercise on identifying our patterns. First, be conscious of the things you say. If there is something you say three times, write it down. Then, if you look at the things you have written down, at the end of a week you will see your patterns. Your words will be reflected in your experiences. By changing these words (and thoughts) we open the door for life changes.

Remember that it is our consistent thinking patterns and words that create our experiences. So, creating change may take some practice.

I have been working on this for about 2 years and the results have been amazing, but I know there is still more work to do.

Another important key is realizing that there is a need for every condition in our lives. Therefore, we must go within and be willing to let go of the need for things that no longer serve us. This could be headaches, alcohol, or excess weight. (This is by no means a judgment) The beautiful thing is that you get to decide what you are willing to release. Getting to the root is what’s important.

Louise Hay offers many new thought patterns and affirmations to help each of us on our healing journey (far too many to list here), giving special attention to spinal misalignments. There is also a loving meditation that we can repeat daily.

We need to go beyond the physical to the mental cause behind dis-ease, hence the term metaphysical.

This has been such an important book in my healing journey, so thanks for reading this blog today.
